Make Mine With Chocolate!

We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves. ~ Francois de La Rouchefoucauld
I love the thoughts that come into my mind all of a sudden, almost like a gust of wind that stirs up the dust around your feet. You never really know what to expect. Which, from my point of view, makes life very exciting, very exciting indeed.

Now, you may or may not have guessed that I have no idea about what I am going to be jotting down on these pages, which can lead to some interesting responses.

From my wife especially.

At least she knows me though. For the most part at least. I have known her for more than half of my life after all, so you would think something would rub off after a while.

Stephen King says that "you must never come lightly to the blank page" or something like that. I like that, I like it so much that I can pretty much paraphrase it from memory, as opposed to my quotes from above. Which, while good and all - I wouldn't use them if I didn't like them, dontcha know - are not from my memory. Most of them are sent to me on a daily basis, whereas others I do look up, especially if one of the six I get every day do not strike my fancy.

*****

Random George Lopez quote...

"What's your idea of a fun date?"

"Cock fighting is fun."

"I'll put down bird-watching."

And the laugh track goes wild....

*****

I should probably get this out of my system now, lest I appear to be bitter and all that jazz.

Congratulations to the Canadian Hockey Club - you won the Gold medal. Just remember that you wouldn't have been able to do it without the three Chicago Blackhawks on your team.

But your closing ceremony was still really lame. :P

Don't Cry For Me, Canada!

If there's anything unsettling to the stomach, it's watching actors on television talk about their personal lives. ~ Marlon Brando

I have a question for you all. Do you still watch Saturday Night Live? If so, may I ask, why?

There isn't really anything funny about it, in my opinion, but that doesn't mean anything to the powers that be up at 30 Rock. Oh well.

*****

Tomorrow is the end of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and all I can say is, finally!

It's not that I haven't enjoyed the Olympics. No, in fact, I have enjoyed several Olympic moments from great (Shaun White ), to tragic (Joannie Rochette ), to down right embarrassing (Sven Kramer - actually it was his coach who is now in the witness protection program).

The Olympics were just that, the Olympics.

I'm glad that they are over tomorrow because it means we can get back to some NHL action. More specifically, some more Chicago Blackhawks action.

Like this.

Or this,

And this,

I could go for some of this as well,
So yeah, I'm glad the Olympics are over tomorrow, but not until one more game...

The New Geography?

With the Olympics here I love noting how people don't always represent the country of their home, for instance...

Reed, 15, is an ice dancer from Warren, N.J., but she is competing in the Olympics for the Republic of Georgia. In a move that is not unusual for a sport in which compatible partners are hard to find, she and the Georgian ice dancer Otar Japaridze paired up last May. Four months later, they unexpectedly qualified for these Games. By November she had a Georgian passport. Now she is a dual citizen.

The Reed family celebrated. Suddenly, they had three Olympians, not just two, at the dinner table, but none were skating for the United States. Allison’s older siblings, Cathy, 22, and Chris, 20, were headed to Vancouver as ice dancers, too — for Japan. The ice dancing competition began with the compulsory dance Friday.

“I know it sounds a little crazy and confusing but we’re so happy to be at the Olympics together, no matter what country we’re representing,” Cathy Reed said of the three-Olympian family. “To be honest with you, this whole experience has been a little crazy.”

How exactly does that work? The Japanese dancers, are understandable in a way because their mother is from Japan. However, young Allison (and her siblings) are from Warren, NJ and as far as I could see, do not have any ties to Georgia.

Personally it seems to be a little unpatriotic and maybe, um, selfish? Or maybe I am thinking of the word childish instead. You know, it went down like this ...

"Y'all aren't good enough to be on the American ice dancing team"

(extra side... why is ice dancing an Olympic sport anyway?)

"Oh yeah, we'll show you"

"Really? And how do you propose to do that?"

"Well, our mom is from Japan, so we'll skate for them!"

"Godspeed young Reeds, and good luck."

So that's how Allison's older brother and sister became Olympians for Japan. As for Allison, I imagine it went like this...

"I can skate, yea I can, I know I can, like can you watch me?"

"Do you have a partner?"

"Um, no. Like do I need one?"

"Well since there isn't a category for a single ice dancer, yes you do need a partner."

"Can't you like, pair me up with someone?"

"Nope, they are all taken."

"Even like, that cute one over their?"

"Yep."

Later that day, a young 14 year old girl was seen crying at the ice rink, when...

"Hello, are you okay?"

"No."

"Well, what seems to be the problem?"

"They won't let me skate without a partner."

"Well, I can skate, shall we be partners?"

"Sure, where are you from?"

"Georgia"

"Oh, like Atlanta?"

"No, like the Georgian Republic, formerly of the Soviet Union."

"The Sovi.. a what?"

"Never-mind. Anyway, I'm sure we can make you a citizen and we'll go to the Olympics. What do you think?"

"Like that is really cool, by the way my name is Allison."

"I'm Otar."

Yeah, I'm sure that's how it went, right?

The Olympics definitely seem to make some strange bedfellows, and some interesting geography questions.

Slip Sliding Away

When they discover the center of the universe, a lot of people will be disappointed to discover they are not it. ~ Bernard Bailey

The Olympics are here, and boy are they exciting.

At least the skiing and snowboarding events have been.

Pairs figure skating has been, well in a word, meh.

As in, oh my goodness, I cannot believe how many falls there have been. Must be something with that Canadian ice, eh? I mean even the Canadians were falling all over themselves. Actually it has been one of the worst displays of ice skating that I have ever seen in an Olympic competition.

Okay, back to the more manly sports like speed skating and downhill, oh and that awesome to watch sport snowboard cross, or whatever they call it. Nothing like having the thrill of racing against three other snowboarders over a course that has many jumps, bumps and spins in it. Really, it is a lot of fun to watch.

Tomorrow though, the real fun begins, and I think you all know what it is I speak of, don't you? I mean there has been some intense training and team selections this year were some of the hardest in the sports history.

I'm talking about curling, also known as shuffleboard on ice.

Oh yeah, I think hockey starts tomorrow as well.

Who Dat? Comes Marching In

Out here in the fields, I fight for my meals, I get my back
into my living, I don't need to fight, to prove I'm right, I don't need to be forgiven
~ The Who

First off, let me say that I really didn't watch much of the game. I know that may shock some of you, but without the Broncos playing (or the Eagles, and maybe the Bears) I really don't care.

Really.

I guess I am just a fan of the Broncos, and not necessarily football.

Sue me.

The commercials were, well commercials. Although I must admit liking this one...

I mean if you can't make a little fun of yourself, then ...

*****

So New Orleans has won the Super Bowl, all I have to say is that Mardis Gras is gonna be an extra special party this year fo sho!

*****

In other news, the girls (Jessie and Katie) both met the Bishop today and received their religious awards for scouts. Pretty awesome, even if it was a really long ceremony. At least the cathedral wasn't really hot, or cold for that matter.

*****

I will have pictures of the wacky bowlers up later this week, as long as I can get them from Jessie that is. They were on here camera.

*****

Finally, I think that The Who should hang up their guitars and microphones, because it ain't working anymore. Call it a career and relax on the beach.

Seriously.

*****

Oh yeah, congratulations to the New Orleans Saints, winners of Super Bowl XLIV!

Now you know what to do Broncos! Speaking of which, I think I forgot to mention that one of my all-time favorite Broncos finally got what he deserves, being enshrined at the National Football League Hall of Fame. Congratulations to number 44, Floyd Little!

*****

That's it, you can go home now.

An ardent supporter of the hometown team should go to a game prepared to take offense, no matter what happens. ~ Robert Benchley
That is why I must forgive the Chicago Blackhawks for losing tonight.

When I'm Wrong

Sorry, no pictures this week. I'm sure we took some, but they are still in the camera and I'm too lazy to get them. So...

Guess what?

I was wrong tonight. Yep, me, wrong.

Worst part, I was wrong about my beloved Denver Broncos .

Gasp!

Yep, I was thinking that David Treadwell was the barefoot kicker for the Broncos, it turns out that it was actually Rich Karlis .

Crap.

Oh, and there were witnesses as well, so now my Broncos card might have to be revoked. So please don't tell anyone, okay?

*****
We have the Indianapolis Colts against the New Orleans Saints playing in the Super Bowl this year.

Who are you picking to win?

Will you even be watching it?

I'm an AFC guy, so I think I might pull for the Colts, but the Saints going to their first Super Bowl would make a pretty nice story, if they were to win. So check back later, and I might have my mind made up by then.

Go Broncos!! (just thought I would throw that in)

Arizona really was a gas...

Blackhawks and Senators

But in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes. ~Benjamin Franklin

They used to say a Republican couldn't win a Senate seat in Massachusetts, either.

That is no longer the case, and now 2010 will turn into a very interesting year in politics, stay tuned.

*****

Let's talk about hockey, as in the National Hockey League, as in I live in a town that has the BEST team in the National Hockey League. That's right, I'm talking about the Chicago Blackhawks, who not only have the best record in the NHL, but also the best uniforms. Lately, they cannot be beat either. Awesome!

What's that?

Uh, you said they lost tonight?

To a team from Ottawa?

What state is that in?

Canada?! That's not a state!

Oh, Ottawa is in Canada, okay I get you now. My mistake.

Apparently, they can be beat on occasion, carry on now.

*****

I bet you didn't know this, but I almost wrote "My bad," instead of "My mistake," up there. My conscience at work likes to point out that "My bad" is just poor English, and I tend to agree, so I will try not use that anymore. Now if I can get my boss to quit saying irregardless.

*****

Did I mention that Scott Brown won in Massachusetts? That's about as crazy as the Blackhawks losing to the Senators.

Maybe.

Because I Don't Want To Forget

Me, Andy Benjy and Dominic all went to the ESPN Zone for a very late dinner tonight.

Okay, I went because I am an adult and one child wanted to see the Bears-Saints game. The other two just tagged along for fun, or something like that.

Anyway, I stood in line for over an hour and a half to get in to see two football teams, that I care nothing for, playing in a state that I really don't want to claim anymore thanks to some moronic governor.

You read that right, an hour and a half. And no, I did not vote for the moron, sorry.

To eat dinner.

At 10:30PM. At least that is what time it was when we finally got our food, maybe it was 10:15 but it really didn't matter because, well Benjy was able to shake the hand, not once but twice, of his favorite college football player - Graham Harrell (quarterback for the Texas Tech Red Raiders). The child rattles off stats for Harrell all the time and talks about how he got screwed in the Heisman voting (I agree completely with him there). So he is sitting just over there (three tables away) with his parents when I tell him. I think that he was still in a texting zone with Rene because he kind of mumbled something. After about the third time we mention it, he finally realizes what we are all talking about.

Andy goes and shakes Harrell's hand and tells him that he got screwed with the Heisman, and Benjy just sits there. To Benjy's credit though, he didn't want to bother Graham Harrell, so kudos to the kid for having some manners, right? Benjy did, eventually, finally go talk to him for a little bit - dragging me along for the ride.

To answer your question... No, I didn't have my camera. Figured I wouldn't need it at a restaurant, guessed I learned that lesson. :)

After meeting his favorite player (college), Benjy then, texts Rene. Hey the boy still has his priorities - cute blond girl versus a college football player. He is fourteen, remember.

Anyway, the Saints take the lead in the football game, and then let Chicago tie it up. I'm ready to go, since Jenni wants to be at the Magic Kingdom, when they open at 9AM, but my Bears fan, Andy, wants to stay.

UGH!

Turns out to have been a good thing though, because Benjy gets to meet Mike Leech, head coach of Texas Tech AND Jim McMahon, AND Fred Bilentikoff (he's a Raider so I don't care if his name is spelled wrong. :) ), and a few other famous, to some, football players and coaches. I guess staying for the rest of the game worked out after all.

Oh, and the Bears won; 24-21.

If There is One Thing I've Learned

It's that forty-one year old men that are a bit overweight should NOT try to stretch a triple into a home run, especially when playing in a gym and there is a stage right behind home plate.

Got the picture?

No, it wasn't pretty and I can barely move my right arm.

I was safe though! :)

So, I Went to this Baseball Game...

... and all I got was the Chicago Cubs first no-hitter since 1972!!!

It was awesome and surreal at the same time, I mean here me and the boys are in Milwaukee, watching a Houston Astros "Home" game, and we were witnesses to some pretty cool history.

See the highlights here.

What is funny is Benjy and I were joking about it in the third inning, and told him that we probably already screwed it up for Zambrano. Boy were we wrong.

Thank you Miller Park for being gracious hosts to me and the other 23, 440 people at the game, we will NEVER forget it.

AWESOME!

P.S. - Let's not forget why the game was played in Milwaukee in the first place, and keep the residents of Texas in your prayers.

Softball, Sun and a lot of Fun!

So I went to a softball game today.

The sun was out, just ask my non sun screened skin. Hey, it was nine in the morning, I didn't even think about it.

It was probably the most exciting game of the year! No I kid you not, the team scored 23 runs! Jessie drove in two herself, and made some plays in the field (by not letting the ball get past her). Now the other team only scored 12, but their hearts were in it.

Actually it was a little give and take for the first three innings, the the Batavia Blue Demons put the peddle to the metal, so to speak. It got started by Allie "Gator" L's three up and three down inning.

That just does not happen, especially for 10-11 year old girls.

Wow.

Next stop, the playoffs.

If Only the Homework was Completed

Then I would have nothing to complain about.

Right?

Doubt it. Anyway, young Master Andy Miller is making a name for himself on Bleacher Report, which means that I am going to have to take his writing a little more seriously I guess.

When did this happen anyway? I mean seventeen year-old's aren't supposed to surprise heir parents anymore (okay, I'll take that back, but I think you might know what I mean). Here is the kid when he said he wanted to major in journalism and communications, I kind of went... Okay? Now it turns out he actually has a passion for it, AND is pretty good at it as well.

I present sample A, B and C.

I guess I better start working on that novel now.

A Night At The Ballpark, Prologue

That's right. A prologue!

Which means that I have no idea what will happen in future posts since, well, they are in the future.

Anyway, I know this, Andy, Benjy and myself are going to the Cubs and Rockies game tonight. Who will be our mysterious fourth? You will just have to come back and see.

No promises of pictures, only because I might forget my camera - I'm bad that way, but I'll try.

One more thing...

GO ROCKIES!!!

The Boys and I Went on a Little Trip

So the boys and I decided to cash in my Christmas present today and went to the Blackhawks vs. Avalanche game at the United Center. We arrived at 10:59 and it was 46 degrees Fahrenheit - in case the picture didn't tell those words. :-)
As you can see the weather was overcast, but the temperature wasn't bad, at all. Remember we have been experiencing a lot colder weather recently, so 46 feels like summer... almost. This is how we park our cars in Chicago at sporting events. Unless you pay an additional seven dollars for "easy out" parking. Newsflash for anyone that wants to spend that extra cash - you will still have to wait in the same traffic, so why not relax and save some money. As I said earlier the clouds were everywhere, and low. That building in the middle is about half of the Sears Tower. The rest is up there, somewhere. The weather didn't keep the fans away though, as they sold out all 21,715 seats. The public address announcer stated that it was the first time sine the Hawks moved to the United Center, in 1994-95, that this has happened. See boys, we were a part of history. Way Cool!!The front Marquee. Technically it's the back of the building, but that's okay. This is the entrance we used. Here is a picture of the boys in front of the Chicago Bulls emblem - could have walked a hundred feet further east and taken the picture in front of the Chicago Blackhawks emblem, but no. That would have made too much sense. The United Center is the house that Michael built. Michael Jordan that is. That's his statue down there...Here is the view from our seats. Not bad for $10. Benjy mentioned that they had to pay for a convenience fee when they got the tickets, of $5.25. What's up with that, I ask? I mean really, what is the convenience that I am receiving afterall? Gotta love Ticketmaster. Our seats and free shirts. Pretty cool. I gave mine to someone that didn't get one, they looked like they really wanted it, so what the heck. Besides it would have fit me, maybe once, before it got washed and shrunk. They did appreciate it though. Some of the storied history of the Blackhawks. Unfortunately they haven't won the Stanley Cup since 1961, but who is counting anyway, right? It didn't seem to bother the 21,715 people in attendance at today's game. This is who we came to see...My new car! Okay, not really, but wouldn't that be fun to drive? Come on admit it, you want to do it now, don't you. While I am thinking about this, they actually had a winner at today's game of some tickets on United Airlines. First time I have ever seen it in all the games I have been to. What they do is pick a young kid, around 6-10 years old, then they pick some guy (always gets booed), then they have an attractive young lady, that naturally gets cheered. Today they even had a bonus contestant playing for the Blackhawks charity.

Anyway, the kid almost made it, the young lady hooked (to the left) all three of her shots (still got cheered), the celebrity shooter (I think he works at a local radio station, never heard of him, but he was playing for the Blackhawks charity) came literally four inches from winning. The dude, that everyone boos, actually made it on his third and final shot. Finally we cheered!

I should explain what it is they are shooting at, I guess. Each contestant shoots at a goal that has a board on it with an opening wide enough for, maybe two pucks, right in the middle of the goal. It really isn't an easy shot, especially for the adults who have to shoot from the red line first, then halfway between the red and blue line, and finally from the blue line. The kid shoots his/her first from the blue line and then gets closer on his second and third shot.

Whew! That was a lot more than I thought I was going to write. Did I mention that I wanted a Zamboni?!?Warming up on the cold ice. And no one ever runs into each other, such talent. :-)What you should NEVER do during game play. You can't see the game when people are standing up in front of you. Bad, bad people.

Face Off! Colorado dominated on the faceoffs, and that was about it. In fact at the beginning of the second period, with Chicago leading 1-0, the Avalanche had an great opportunity with nearly a whole minute of 5 on 5 play. No goal. To make matters worse, Chicago scored a minute after the power play. 2-0 Chicago. The result....

Here is a shot of 'Sweet Home Chicago,' it's sktline would have shown up better without that brown building there. As you can see the skies cleared up after the Hawks won. The drive home was only about an hour, which is maybe fifteen minutes longer than normal. Oh and I was able to pull right out of my parking space. The easy out people had to wait for traffic to lighten up before pulling out. Probably the only time that happens. :-)Overall, me and the boys had a great time and even though the Avalanche lost, it was still fun. Thanks again boys, it was a great Christmas present. Now I have to work on getting some Bears vs. Eagles tickets. I still have a couple of months to figure that one out.

World Series Prediction!!

Time for some early prognostication (really early, since pitchers and catchers are just now reporting)

I'm seeing the Cardinals coming up strong this year and re-capturing the National League crown.

I also see a strong showing, in the American League, by the Blue Jays!

It will be a tough battle between the two teams in the World Series! With the Blue Jays coming out on top.
Unless, of course, the Orioles have a late-season surge. Then I can see the Cardinals beating the Orioles.

Many thanks to Alan over at his bird showcase, for allowing me to use his great photos.

Oh, and I really have no idea who will be in the World Series, I would have chosen the Rockies and Red Sox to repeat their appearance from last year, but I don't have photo props to help. :-) Besides, it was time to show off Alan's talent again.

"Take me out to the ballgame..."

Pitchers and Catchers Report!

Soon!

Can hardly wait. I already have my league set up for fantasy baseball, which has come to be a fun thing to do for me and our little group. In fact, we have added a couple of new players and are more than willing to accept anyone else. At least until the twenty slots are filled.

What that boring paragraph was really trying to say was, if you would like to join my fantasy baseball league, let me know and I will send you an invite. It is totally free and for us that play it, fun.

As a bonus, you tend to pay more attention to other teams, along with your favorites, because your players come from all the teams in Major League Baseball.

One last baseball note for you all. LHS has started already listing hi "wish-list" of games he would like to attend (i.e. Dad, can you buy me some tickets).

His choices are: April 2 against Milwaukee - Okay, let's think about this, it is in early April, in Chicago, on a Wednesday afternoon. Cold, not winter-like cold (high of 2 tomorrow, can't wait), but pretty cold to be watching a baseball game, especially a game that will have a fair share of errors due to it being the beginning of the season. (Ed: That was an extremely long sentence there buddy, gonna lose some readers if you keep that up) Did I mention that it will be cold? Then it falls on a Wednesday, now LHS and all my kids are homeschooled so there won't be a problem with the truancy officer, unless school work isn't done of course. Considering LHS's history, you make that call. Oh, and it will be COLD!

May 29 against Colorado (the National League Champion Colorado Rockies) - The only thing that I can complain about here is that Colorado tickets might be harder to come by. However, not nearly as hard to get as,

June 29 at the Chicago White Sox. Okay, this series, as well as theseries in Wrigley sell out almost before they actually go on sale. That will not be an easy ticket to get, plus it will be very crowded - and I don't like crowds, well the traffic after being with the crowds. Plus, there is so much vitriol involved with these games that my tender little ears will just be blushing all afternoon. :-)

Finally, and I can't remember the date (if I got the three other dates correct, it'll be remarkable) is against the St. Louis Cardinals. If there is a bigger rivalry than the White Sox, it would be the Cardinals.

Like I said, a "wish-list."

In other news... Apparently, the bottom is about to drop, temperature-wise. Like I mention earlier, our HIGH tomorrow will be 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Oh and windy as well, so we are talking wind chills in the 25 to 30 below zero, so we get to snuggle up in the house and stay warm. We even cancelled our pryer group for tomorrow because of the weather.

Saw my first 'Global Cooling' article yesterday. Seriously. I just wish I could find it again, so you all wouldn't think I was making it up. All I have to say is, this is a great big planet, with lots and lots of room, and I find it hard to believe that we, as in the human race, are responsible for the heating and cooling of the planet. Consider that when Mt. St. Helens exploded (I use this, only because I cannot think of anothe volcano), it left a larger 'carbon footprint' than all of the motor vehicle in the USA, today. Running. At the same time.

Don't worry about "Big Blue," when she's had enough she'll do something about it. Just ask the dinosaurs.

Okay, I'm done... For now. :-)

OMG! It's Ten PM!!

Where did the day go? I didn't even have time to blog at work. Now that's just not right.

So how is everyone? The two or three of you doing well, I hope. :-) Not a big fan of Monday, in case you were wondering, and I did some stuff today that I would love to blog about, but I need to get clearance from the boss.

Imagine that personal news that may be too personal. So, with that tease...

Pitchers and Catchers report in 10 days!!

The Wii can be very addictive and brings out the competitive juices in everybody. So much so, that Benjy decided to pop LHS in the mouth, well LHS wasn't going to stand for that... luckily Jenni was right there and saw it all. Or should I say unluckily for Benjy?

I need a story idea. Anybody got one that they aren't using? If so, please pass it on to me, I will be grateful, I promise.

Faces of Foreclosure... Not exactly sure how I feel about the whole subprime lending busting out, but I do know that I feel very lucky to be getting out of a crappy loan *knock on wood* and into a better loan. Nothing like going from 6.5% to 10.75% to make one cringe. We would of done something sooner, but after I lost my job with Avaya, we kind of hit a few bumps in the road and just now have found a much smoother road. It takes time to rebuild the credit that took a beating, but we are proof that it can be done. If you feel like you are going to be in trouble, by all means look for some help by calling your lender sooner rather than later.

Okay, enough about that.

How about them Giants? Okay, you're right I don't care.... NEXT!!

I think I will now lay down for a long winter's nap. Or something like that.

Go Pack Go!

Yep, that is who I am rooting for, of the remaining four teams.

The Green Bay Packers.

Actually, I think that I am rooting more for Brett Favre and against New England more than anything. However, I think it would be outstanding to see Brett Favre beat New England in the Super Bowl, it would serve two purposes.

First, it would allow Brett Favre a chance to go out on top, like the greatest quarterback ever - John Elway.

Second, it would shut the New Englanders up. No one roots for the favorite, unless it's your team of course.

Heard a hilarious story about taking a dog to a chiropractor this evening. Yes, I said chiropractor! Who would have thought that people do that, but our friends M&K do, and by the tone of the story, you can tell that M thinks it is a bunch of hooey! I'll have to see if I can do it justice, some time. Just not now.

I try to tease them when I can!

Besides, it's 10:30 and I need to get up at 4:00AM - that's right. The work week has begun again - even tough I was there all weekend.

Bye-bye.

Why is New England So Good?

I don't know. But I would love for the Denver Broncos to get a little bit of that mojo some day. Thought they were close two years ago when the beat the Patriots, but then they choked to the Steelers. Not good. Oh well, there is always baseball, I guess.

Why am I talking about the Denver Broncos, right now? Especially since they have been eliminated from playoff contention for, oh about a month now. Could it be that it's because I am watching New England dominate the Jaguars in the second half. After a 14-14 tie at halftime.

What would be cool, in my opinion, would be for the Patriots to meet the Packers in the Super Bowl, and then lose. Why? Because it would be hilarious to watch them finish the season at 18-1, instead of 19-0. Bill Simmons' head will be exploding soon enough, along with all of the Boston area. First the Red Sox, now the Patriots, soon it will be the Celtics (can you believe that crap?!). Next thing you are going to tell me is that the Bruins are going win the Stanley Cup.

What is there to like about Massachusetts anyway?

Okay, rant over.

Did I mention that on Friday I had an employee quit? Cool, right? Cocky little punk. Actually came thisclose to kicking him out of the building, but chose not to. I figured that I was probably like that when I was 22 and had the world still waiting on me. I think I realized that I am just jealous that he was able to find another job, AND get paid more than I am.

Yes, I'm bitter.

Not because of that, but because three years ago, I was in that position - making tons of easy money, only to get laid off. Talk about a kick in the gut.

I really am happy for him. Really.

JC is pissed off, and I'll have to remember to post the resignation letter later. It's a doozie of a rant. Doesn't say much other than he feels like his vast experience of three years entitles him to a salary above and beyond what we were paying him, blah, blah, blah. Also how he felt it was illegal to do something with the payroll. Had to call him on that, and tell him to look for better representation from a lawyer that might have actually received a JD.

Funny thing is, he knew I was right and that I called him on his nonsensical BS. ~Yea for the good guys.

I need to come up with a sell-able project, write it, then sell it. Piece of cake, right? Now who's dreaming.

Speaking of dreaming, I must be doing just that, because I have no idea where I've been on this post and I have no idea where I am going...

Scratch that. I'm going to bed.
