Sleepy Sleepy Shake

If you don't know what to do, call the media and at least give the appearance of doing something. ~ David Peterson

Guess what woke me up this morning?

It had nothing to do with any bodily functions, especially in the waste production section - I'm good in that area, and I know that you wanted to know that.

Actually, it was an earthquake, although as my friends in California would say, "puh-lease, it didn't even break four on the Richter scale."

To which I would answer, "oh yes it did, those seismologists just didn't want us to have our four."

For the record, it was initially reported as a 4.3, only to be downgraded later to a 3.8.

To which I say, whatever. All I know is that at 4AM, I was awakened by a loud boom and a slight shaking sensation. I actually though that either something blew up (hence the boom), or that someone ran into either my house or a house on my block (that would be the boom and shake).

The lesson to be learned from all of this though is; there are now two things that will wake me up from a deep slumber.

An earthquake or a power outage.

That's right, crying babies, police pounding on my door, father in-law pounding on my door, puking kids, puking animals, falling trees, alarm clocks, farting (not that I would do that , just sayin') all have no affect and do not disturb my sleep.*

Nope, not this guy. It takes an earthquake or a power outage.

You always knew I was weird, right?

* I have slept through them all, every single one.

He Put A Needle In My Eye

Tooth, and discovered a treasure trove of pus, if there can be such a thing.

All together now... EWWWWWWWWW!!

Then since the tooth was pretty much a piece of fragmented enamel, he got out the channel locks, wiggled it around a bit, and pulled!

Sweet relief!

So, how was your day?

As My Head Rolls Off My Neck

I need some sleep, so here are a few quizes, just for you and me, and Aunt Martha, Uncle Joe, Grandpa Linus, Grandma Edith, Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, etc.

You Communicate Passionately

You speak from the heart. You can't separate your feelings from what you're saying, even in a professional context.

You tend to speak dramatically, with lots of passion and emotion. It's easy for you to get swept up in what you're saying.

You like to connect with people early on so that you can personalize what you are saying to them.

When you converse, you try to find common ground and harmony. Even if you disagree with someone, you try to emphasize where you agree.

Here's another one...

You Are Mind

If you dream it, then you can do it. You are very mentally sharp and strong.

You enjoy challenging yourself both at work and with studies. You love mastering difficult tasks.

You thrive in new environments, even stressful ones. You are able to study everything objectively.

You have a upbeat attitude, and won't be deterred easily. You are open minded and optimistic about the future.

And finally, in honor of the first day of Spring...

You Are Spring Break

You are fun loving and celebratory. You live for good times with friends and strangers.

You like meeting and mingling. You are a social person by nature.

You like to "play hard"... even if you don't work hard.

You are able to let go of your worries and truly enjoy life.

Ramblings of a Man with a Cold

Okay, I have no idea what I am going to write, and no idea where this will end up - total stream of consciousness here.

Got it?

Good.

It's 12:07AM as I start this, and I don't know why I was compelled to turn on the computer and write something, could be this freaking cold, or maybe Mr. Muse has decided to show up, because he likes to work nights.

I really don't know.

Maybe it's the movie August Rush that spoke to me, granted this ain't no pretty music, but who knows, maybe it will be.

The movie was excellent, it's a story about a young boy in search of his parents and has a great creepy performance by Robin Williams.

Seriously great.

Let's put it this way, I wanted to reach inside the computer and kick his Ass, not many characters get to me to me that way.

Then again, maybe it's the Tylenol Cold talking.

Speaking of that stuff, I wish it would contain my cough, it is so hard to sleep when I keep coughing.

I am sure that Jenni is glad that I am out of the bedroom for the moment.

Whoa, who is slowly creeping down my street?

Whew! It didn't look like they were doing anything, just going home - one of my neighbors kids must be visiting.

Granted it is after midnight--- sing along if you know the words...

Sorry, I don't know them either.

Want to hear something funny? These last few sentences have been written with an Irish accent.

Could you tell?

Oh looky, the train is blowing his flipping whistle.

Did I mention that it was after midnight.

My one neighbor, let's call her "Ho-Drunk" is all in a tizzy about the park district wanting to build a pool/recreation center.

And the problem is?

Well, she is afraid that our taxes will go up - no doubt. So she's going to give the city a piece of her mind.

Dammit!

I should tell her that the city probably has NOTHING to do with it, as it would fall under the park district's jurisdiction. Also, I should mention that they need to have an election to get the dang thing approved.

It's more fun this way, I think.

Why 'Ho-Drunk?'

Well, my lovely bride of sixteen plus years has a great habit of creating words for use, remember Assitude? I'd link it now, but then the train of whatever thoughts would leave the station, and we can't have that, now can we?

Anyway, her name is Holly - I am sure that my blog friends TexasHolly, and AnglophileFootballFanatic are nothing like her though.

Back to 'Ho-Drunk,' you see she has a way of jumping from dude to dude. Heck there was a time, I kid you not , she had two different boyfriends visit on the same weekend.

Awkward.

So, naturally Holly go shortened to Ho. I'm pretty sure you all can figure out the drunk part.
Now this is a woman that has told people that I used to work with, that I'm an A-Hole. No doubt I can be, hence Assitude. (I really should remember to add some links tomorrow when I am more awake).

But never, I repeat NEVER to her. In fact, I can probably count on both my hands and feet the amount of words, I have actually spoken to her - in eleven years!

Sure, maybe that seems a little standoff-ish, but remember I am no ones social butterfly (i.e. I am as introverted as they come, really.)

Okay, maybe not THAT introverted.

Enough about that.... NEXT!

Wow, I just lost my signature, how the heck did I do that? I wonder if it will ever come back? Oh I am sure that I could put it back, but remember it is after midnight, and me brain isn't working quite right there, don't you know? (More Irish)

I am curious to see how the comments go with this piece, if there will even be any? Like Plurk, where I like to pimp myself out on occasion, wait, I haven't actually done that... So if any of you all want to, feel free to "Pump Up the Karma, Pump up the Karma!"

Oh and leave a comment to, please. :)

Looky there, it's 12:35 and my time is nearly up... bet you didn't know I set a half hour time limit, now did you. Guess what? Me neither!

However, the meds, plus the hot sower, plus nearly cutting myself shaving (I hate that! Shaving that is, do they make Nair for faces?), which always wakes me up and keeps the adrenaline pumping. Oh and half an hour of this nonsense, I have but four more words for you...

Listen to the music.

An Album Cover To End All Album Covers(not to mention a really cool band name)

Hello all!

I was lurking like I like to do, when I can't get to sleep. Anyway, I went over to Damama T's blog and read a very touching tribute to her mother who passed away twenty-four years ago. While there I (and I do this at every blog I visit, because you never know where it will lead you).

It led me to Kathy:I am who I am and this neat little experiment, which ironically she got from Damama T - talk about some weird sense of synergy, eh?

But I digress (trying to keep up with Kalynne, don't ya know. She's the digressing champ{Is that even a word?}).

Ugh. Your point?

Oh yeah, An Album Cover that is created through a whole bunch of randomness (actually three random web pages, to be honest). Then after creating said cover, well you see if it fits you to a 'T.'

So here are the instructions:

Go to the following websites...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random(The first article title on the page is the name of your band.)

http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3(The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.)

http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7daysThe third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Got it? I'm not putting in links, (although it looks like they may be there, not sure...) well because Kathy didn't do it, and I'm not sure if it would screw something up - does that make sense? Whew! Are you all still with me? Anyway, just copy and paste the URL into your address bar and it should work just fine.

Now for my cover...

My band name and album title:

Geriojennsa ~ 'Enjoyment of One's Self'

There you have it. Does kind of fit you know, except maybe the whole (Geriojennsa is a genus of moth in the family Arctiidae.) part. :) That's okay, I kind of like the name for a band... (I got dibs!)

Good Night and God Bless! (for real this time)

Another Long Day

means another short post. Maybe.

What is up with Apple? I mean I went and spend all that money getting my 16GB iPod Touch, because it had the largest memory and I need that, because I keep forgetting things, and now they are coming out with a 32GB iPod Touch. I swear they probably just have a master switch somewhere that they just turn the extra memory on with.

Kind of like cable. You know how they make you sit around from 8am until 2pm, so the cable guy can "install" your new channels. Let's be serious folks, they just want to see what illegal channels you have. Okay, I'm probably way off base there. But. I. Don't. Think. So.

Took the middle three, okay numbers 2, 3 and 4 to choir practice. Actually number 2 was there for some study time with a group of friends that are studying the Acts of the Apostles. I think that it is more of a social gathering than anything else, but they say that they are learning, something.

While they were doing that, I was hanging out by the local coffee shop - they have free Wi-Fi, and I can get it from the parking lot, to check my email. Hey, the church doesn't have Wi-Fi, yet. They are still building the school.

I got up at 2:30 this morning, to get to Adoration by 3am. Truth be told, I was awake at 12:30, and I had three choices; blog (didn't do that), go to Adoration early, or try to sleep. I did the latter, which made 2:30 a really hard time to wake up. Why was I up at 12:30? Probably has something to do with the great pain in my mouth. I'll be the first to admit that when it comes to oral hygiene, I am not the best example. Let me put it this way, when the kids balk at doing the brushings of their pearly whites, I show them my mouth and they commence with such vigor, that you would think their lives depended on it. Maybe they do.

Anyway, I had some work done a while back, maybe a decade or so ago, and it seems like something got underneath it and... Well it's not supposed to have stuff go underneath it. I keep calling it an "it," but it really isn't a crown or an implant.

Did I mention that I had a rough night sleeping last night, and have been up since 2:30 this morning.

Okay, just heard this... Benjy and his friend Dominic had to come up with their own amendment to the Constitution, so Benjy comes up with "Every American citizen should become Mexican citizens, because their food is better."

Maybe homeschooling wasn't such a good idea, afterall.

Okay, I'm spent. I aoplogize for this being everywhere and nowhere. I promise to do better tomorrow. Because...

"The Sun will come out tomorrow..."
