Cold-Filtered Four Times

That's what they do to Miller Genuine Draft Beer.

My questions, are as follows:

  1. Why?
  2. How?
  3. Does it actual make the beer taste better, than say a cold-filtered three times beer?
  4. What's the deal with calling it genuine draft anyway? I mean do the fill the bottles from a keg or what?
  5. Does my talking about beer make me lose my "G" rating?
  6. Why should I stress out over a soccer tournament, I mean if we win, does it make me an awesome coach, or just put more pressure on me to repeat my feat with Maggie's team next year? Even though Maggie's team will not have a season ending tournament for at least five more years, or is it four?
  7. Why does eating a bunch of pretzels, like say a whole bag, may my eyesight go wacky and my head start a pounding? I think the eyesight was going wacky because of the pounding, but still, what's up with that?
  8. Do you know how hard it is to break 75,000 points in Bejeweled Blitz(one minute rounds)? Now imagine my surprise when I got over 114,000! I think I shall take this moment to announce my retirement from Bejeweled Blitz, at least until Tuesday, or one of my fierce competitors usurp my standing as numero uno.
  9. Yes, I did just slip into a little Spanish. That makes it two, count them TWO, days in a row that I have a Spanish language usage in my blog.
  10. What does number 9 even mean?
  11. Can this stop, now?
  12. Nope.
Now it can.

Ideas From Anonymous

Wow, talk about your - well I can't really call it divine intervention, but why not? I mean, maybe God wants to know these things. Okay, scratch that He already does, doesn't He.

Anyway, what to my wondering eyes did appear, but several questions in need of some answering. Just think, my brain was numb a few minutes ago, but now it has been shot up with adrenaline, (at least for one or two questions) so let's go:

1) Do you enjoy home improvement projects? You do an often lot of them. Short answer, No. Long answer; no not really. The reason I do a lot of them, is because I kind of need to. Money does not grow on trees. Trust me, I used to think it did as well. Sheesh! Well, at least there is still a Santa Claus, right? Seriously though, there is a part of it that I like, that would be the part where I can look back on my completed projects with a feeling of pride at a job well done. Now, if I could just complete some of these projects.

2) Coke or Pepsi? Fries or chips? Neither, because I'm a total Diet Coke fan addict. No other soda will do, well, except maybe an occasional Dr. Pepper. Are we talking American fries or English chips? Not really the same thing, except that we Americans call them all french fries, right? This question, like all questions, should be answered on several different levels (stall much?) because I am quite the connoisseur of fine foods, such as fries and chips. Of the major fast food joints, I still prefer McDonald's fries over all others. It's the sugar that they are soaked in, no doubt. However the best fries I ever had were actually called chips, from a little fish-n-chips stand in Feltwell England, surprisingly, since I'm not a big fan of fish I actually tried them. Not bad, then when you add some vinegar - yum!

Are Cheez-its considered a chip? If so, then they would be the ones that rock the world of my chip eating. If not, I'll go with Pringles, especially the salt and vinegar kind, I guess that English taste stuck with me, although the Pringles are a little more tart, or is it bitter? Hmm. I think my mind is going numb again.

Okay that's it for tonight. I have to think about what I'm going to say for the next three questions - I had to get the hard ones out of the way first. Plus, maybe I can get Mr/Miss Anonymous to come back for at least one more visit.

Night all!

Answer Time

Okay, it's been a long and productive Sunday, which means I have nothing. Lucky for me, I ask for some questions to help me along.
Thanks Jeff!
1) Do you live/work right in Chicago? If not, how far away are you? We do not live nor work within the city of Chicago (too crowded, too expensive, too taxed). We live in a small town (about 25,000) called Batavia, that is about 40 miles due west of Chicago. It's a nice little town that has grown quite a bit since we moved here, about 15 years ago. Makes me want to move further west, where you get more house for your money, but the job is in Carol Stream, which is roughly twelve miles east of us, and a twenty minute commute. So unless I no longer need my current job, we probably will be staying put for a while. Which is why we are working on updating the house, well that and the fact that we have number seven on the way.
2) How bad has the parking violations and towing gotten since it was privatized in Chicago? Can people waiting behind you at a red light in downtown Chicago wait more than 5 milliseconds before honking the horn after it turns green? Thankfully I do not need to park in Chicago, we always take the train, it's so much easier, and cheaper. For example, I can park at the Forest Park train station for $3 and that's for 15 hours, then I can ride the train anywhere, on any line for less than $3. As opposed to driving down to, let's say Wrigley Field, and trying to find a parking spot for less than $25. Which would you choose? Granted the public transportation way takes a little longer, but I prefer going to Cubs games that way. Plus, even a parking meter costs you $3.50 for, I think, two hours and you can only use quarters, so imagine lugging all that change around, just to park. No thank you.
As for the horn honking, I don't even think the cabs wait that long. We like to occasionally walk along Michigan Avenue (okay we've only done it a handful of times), and you always hear a horn being honked. It goes so well with the Christmas decorations, and holiday spirit, don't you think?
3) Have you seen that commercial where the guy gets on a plane in Mpls and flies to Chicago to get his pregnant wife a pizza for lunch? Is that a true story? I haven't seen it, but I'm sure that it's true, after all it is on television and they wouldn't try to mislead us, right? Although I could see someone trying it, it's only a 55 minute flight I think, but don't forget to add two hours on both sides for security. Then there is the ordering, and do you have it delivered or do you do a pick up? I mean if the husband left by 6AM, he might have it back in time for lunch, I guess.
****
See how much fun that was? I mean I had absolutely nothing tonight, and Jeff saved me. Thanks again Jeff. Hope you don't mind my combining the questions, they seemed to naturally go together.
Now, if you want to have some fun, like Jeff did, send me your questions.
Bye-bye!!

Ask A Question

With February almost over, I thought that it was about time for me to open up the floor to y'all and allow you the opportunity to ask me a question. I will do my best to answer them all, with the exception of any math - I don't do math anymore.

Floor's yours, so ask away!

*It's late and I have been downloading stuff from iTunes, please forgive me. :)

Saved By The Colleen

So Colleen saw that I was floundering in my efforts for giving you a high quality product, so I read her post from a couple of weeks ago, where she answered questions posed to her by Maria. Knowing full well that January is a bad month for me, creatively and otherwise, I asked Colleen to ask away.

She took me seriously.

So now what? I guess I have to answer the questions, right? I mean I don't want to get a reputation for not posting something that I said I would. (Krissa, I promise to get to that meme, someday.)

So here are the five questions from Colleen and answers from me. :)

1) If there's one thing you could "implant" in your children's brains - just make them know without having to teach it to them, or fight to get your point across - what would it be?

That's easy and I wish I had the same thing, at times, and that would be the ability to manage their finances. I can't tell you how many times they get a little bit of money, for their birthdays, Christmas, or doing some sort of job like babysitting. They want to immediately go out and spend it. I swear it seems like they just want to spend, spend, spend, and on what? Some cheap piece of plastic that they will forget about in twenty minutes. Of course, the apple didn't fall too far from the tree there, but I am getting better. I think. Heck, I'm not going to Disney this year, so that's a start, right?

2) If you could "undo" anything from your past, what would it be?

I would have never bought the Toyota Celica, that I surely couldn't afford, yet managed to 'steal' my own savings to get it. What makes this incident even dumber, is that I had just bought a new car about ten months prior, so I was majorly upside-down on that loan. Let's see, what else about that car, I bought it in Colorado where you don't really need AC, but I lived in Texas, where you do. That's right, I bought a new car with no air conditioning and it didn't even have a cassette player, nor a CD player. Yeah, I can pretty much say that was my biggest mistake. Ever.

3) What was your favorite game as a child?

That would be Risk. We used to spend hours and hours playing that game of World Domination. I still play it today, only on a computer because the play is faster. In fact, I wonder where my CD is for that game. I need to do some domination again. :)

4) Crocs - love 'em or hate 'em?

Believe it or not, I like them a lot. Heck I've even worn them this winter, outside, in the snow. I don't recommend trying that, but it shows how comfortable they are. I forgot that I was wearing them. Now my Crocs are special because they are Denver Broncos Crocs. :) Andy, who swore that he wouldn't wear them, tried mine and now owns a pair of Chicago Cubs Crocs. They were very comfortable to wear in Florida, and I actually preferred wearing them over sandals.

5) Your house is on fire. Other than your family and any pets, what are the three things you'd hope to save?

To be honest the only things that I would care about saving would be my family, but since you said that they were okay. Number one would be Jenni's grandfather's hat - I love that hat and I see it everyday. I would wear it, but it's a few sizes too small. Number two would be my external hard drive, since it has all my music and pictures. Maybe someday, it will even have my great American novel on it. Finally, I would make sure that I had my car keys and wallet since I will need them to get away from the flaming carcass formerly known as my house. :) I know, I'm quite the sentimental one.

Okay, those are my answers, now here is the BEST part!!

Now you can sign up for me to interview YOU! I know you're gonna want to experience my fine journalistic skills, and you know that it has been a dream of yours to have me ask you questions, as well. All you need to do is follow the following steps:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

One Little Question

I promise.

Why is the baby food in the middle of the pet care section at Target?

I look forward to your responses, and whether or not, your Targets do the same. I should clarify one thing, this is a Super Target.

Good Night!
