Seriously...

What was I thinking? I mean wait for me to put logic and reason into an election.

Psshh.

All I needed to do was follow the crowd and watch the guy who has an expiration date on EVERYTHING he says, and go with him.

Why should I want someone that has actually done SOMETHING with his life, besides run for political office. I mean if the masses say he's the man, then he is the man, right?

Why should I have been worried when terrorists and dictators and all the rest of the "civilized" world wanted you to lead my country - I mean the masses of 'sheeple' said it will be all right.

Okay, guess what?

You got it.

All the power is yours for the next four years.

Prove me wrong!

I'm tired of being right all the time. :-)

P.S. - "Happy" Roger should be back tomorrow - I need to get some sleep. (if I can)

President Obama... Now What?

Good luck, comrade!

Election Day...

God has blessed this country with many great leaders, and a few that weren't so hot. The time has come around to pick a new leader - I know the anticipation is killing me too!

So here are few Election Day prayers, not for anyone individual but for the country, and that the new leader and his team of experts will guide us in a manner that is righteous and continues to lead us in a manner that is pleasing to God.

I call heaven and earth today to witness against you:
I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse.
Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live,
by loving the Lord, your God,
heeding his voice and holding fast to him.
-Deut 30:19-20 New American Bible
ELECTION PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE
O Virgin of Guadalupe,
Your appearance in Mexico changed the course of human history.
Human sacrifice ceased and millions were converted to Jesus Christ.
Pray for our nation now.
Guide our elections through your gracious intercession.
Change hearts and minds to uphold the dignity of all human life.
Stem the tide f moral degradation and defend the sanctity of marriage.
Protect our nation from terrorism, war and natural disaster.
May goodness triumph over evil.
May candidates committed to God's truth be elected and re-elected.
And may our nation prosper.
We ask this through Jesus Christ,
Our Lord.
Amen.
FROM THE USCCB
Lord God,

as the election approaches,
we seek to better understand the issues and concerns that confront our city, state, and country,
and how the Gospel compels us to respond as faithful citizens in our community.

We ask for eyes that are free from blindness
so that we might see each other as brothers and sisters,
one and equal in dignity,
especially those who are victims of abuse and violence, deceit and poverty.

We ask for ears that will hear the cries of children unborn and those abandoned,
men and women oppressed because of race or creed, religion or gender.

We ask for minds and hearts that are open to hearing the voice of leaders who will bring us closer to your Kingdom.

We pray for discernment
so that we may choose leaders who hear your Word,
live your love,
and keep in the ways of your truth
as they follow in the steps of Jesus and his Apostles
and guide us to your Kingdom of justice and peace.

We ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
Now this next prayer is for those Bible scholars, here's a quiz prayer for you. All I am looking for is who's prayer it is, and where you can find it. Two hints, it's in the Old Testament, and you will need a Catholic Bible to get it. (Narrowed it down to seven books to look through, see how nice I am.)
You are righteous O Lord,
and all your deeds are just;
All your ways are mercy and truth;
you are the judge of the world.
And now, O Lord, may you be mindful of me,
and look with favor upon me.
Punish me not for my sins,
nor for my inadvertent offenses,
nor for those of my fathers.
Play along if you like... answer will be revealed tomorrow, unless I forget. :)
Finally, go visit Damama's Place and see her prayer for this election season.
Now get out there and VOTE!
God Bless.

Monday, Monday

Oh what a Fun Day!

No really, it was a lot of fun, getting back together with friends from work and kidding each other about our football teams, and ... WAIT JUST ONE DARN MINUTE! The Broncos lost.

All is lost.

They are 4-4, granted they are still in first place of the AFC Worst, but come on! At least my fantasy teams are winning, for now. :)

Oh yeah, the Boss Man is back for a two day visit. He's been gone for most of the month of October, so it's been nice really tough without him. In fact, we only beat our monthly goal by $117K. Now since we are making so much money for the company you would think that we would be due a nice little bump in salary, during this increase in salary season. Let's see here, last year we got $26,000 in raises for 26 people. This year we are getting $25,000 for 27. Oh yeah, and we only made 10% above what we needed to.

Anyone looking for a slightly disgruntled lab supervisor?

Hey the walls are all up!! Yea! Now the fun mudding, sanding, painting, etc starts.

Can I get a whoop whoop?!?

Well here's some contrasting election news (not really an election post kind of thing, more of a trivial pursuit dealy), every election that the NY Jets have won 5 or more games before election day - the republican has won the White House... the Jets are 5-3. On the other hand 5 of the past 6 times that the Washington Redskins have won their last home game before an election, the incumbent party wins the election... Pittsburgh is leading 23-6. So one of those things are going to be wrong, it looks like.

Let's see here.... what else? Oh yeah, George Lopez is one funny show, sometimes.

Night-night!

This is Not Acceptable

I started blogging so that I would have an outlet for my writing (because I am always working on that great American novel, don't you know)

However, this month has had a rather lackluster performance, for me. I mean this is just my ninth post this month.

Ninth!

I mean I had a streak of over three months of daily posts going at one time, and now I have Nine! In a thirty-one day month.

Way bad.

Way not cool.

Way too many short sentences.

So, my solution is; to quit my job and post non-stop.

Okay that is the absolutely dumbest thing I have EVER written and/or said.

Seriously.

Okay, except maybe for that time I asked the lady when she was due and she told me... "I'm not pregnant!"

Oops.

I mean I can say that she looked pregnant, but I will get absolutely no sympathy from any female readers. All I can say is lesson learned. I don't even ask my wife when she is due, when I KNOW that she is pregnant.

Okay, she's not right now, so calm down there everyone. This is not an announcement post. That's for tomorrow...

I have so much to talk about like;

BIDEN!!! - You have to be kidding me? This dude plagiarizes speeches and talks out of his behind half the time, he thinks that he is almost as good as Obama thinks he is. But I digress...

I was seriously kidding about the whole pregnancy thing, now put the phone back on the hook - Mom - and read through the whole thing... Sheesh!

Yes, I am mean and arrogant and I DO KNOW IT ALL!!! Bwah ha ha ha!!!

Never mind that, it's just my evil twin muse.

Where was I? Oh yeah Biden - a Catholic that will try to over rule the Church's two-thousand year old history to fit his own needs. I hate those kind of people, like Kerry, Kennedy and any other politician that thinks they know better than the Pope.

I didn't forget about that braniac Pelosi. All I have to say is that I hope my fellow Catholics will join me in sending her a copy of the Catechism, highlighting the area where it says that abortion is evil, no matter when it occurs. Let us all take a quiet moment to pray for all those lost children, because of abortions....

Miss Sister 2008 - a bad idea that has come and gone. Praise God!

The Cubs are kicking some serious booty right now... watch out for the Rockies though, they are heating up (please don't wake me, just yet).

Soccer season is upon us. Yea!! I can hardly wait; there is nothing more enjoyable than making kids run around and work out, while I stuff another brownie in my face.

Not this year though - I need to lose about six hundred of those brownies.

Okay I'm done. Hope it was as good for you as it was for me.

P.S. - I know that there are lots of other stories out there, but I need to make it last for at least 20 more posts in five days.

P.P.S - I know I should have written out twenty up there, so quit sending those nasty emails. I have feelings to you know.

P.P.P.S - Only Seventy-Three more days until we start election 2012! Get your web domains early

Good Night and God Bless!!

It's Raining?

Yep, welcome to the wacky world of Illinois weather. Of course it will turn to snow before too much longer and what fun that will be.

As of right now Senator Obama has beaten Senator Clinton in Georgia. Handedly. Wow.

I, of course, am just now realizing that there is no way I can get to my polling place before 7. What a shmuck I am. I hate when I do that, and let the record show that this is the first time that has happened. Unbelievable. I told you that I didn't care, I guess I just proved that.

I need to write something a little more substantial. My second-grader is writing better stuff than me. I mean it's great for her and all, but...

Quaker Rice Cakes taste yummy! I mean that. Seriously. Okay, maybe not THAT yummy!

I was going to write something witty right here, but I forgot what it was, so... this is what you get. Or would that be got, since you just got it, you didn't actually get it then. Right?

"It's the End of the World as we Know it(And I feel fine)" - I like that song.

along with

"We Disn't Start the Fire."

Both of which , I just listened to. Actually, Billiy Joel is talking about "... We didn't start the fire, although we didn't light it, but we tried to fight it..."

I need to type as fast as Billy sings to make that more effective, I think.

No TV after tonight! That's right. Lent starts tomorrow, and we are giving up television again this year. Bad timing for me, because 'Lost' just came back, but I can watch the reruns, right?

Well, I better head out, so I can beat the snow if it comes. See you on the flipside!

This Sums Up Things Nicely

Words for thought:

"On Tuesday, millions of Florida voters will head for the polls. Being Floridians, many of them will become confused and drive into buildings, canals, cemeteries, other Floridians, etc. But some will actually make it to the polls, where they will cast ballots that will play a crucial role in the presidential election. Or, in the case of Democrats, not. It turns out that the 2008 Florida Democratic primary doesn’t count. Florida will be sending the same number of delegates to the 2008 Democratic convention as Uzbekistan. This may seem unfair, but there’s a simple, logical explanation: The whole primary system is insane. Consider the process so far: First, Iowa held ‘caucuses,’ in which Iowans gathered in small groups at night and engaged in some mysterious Iowan ritual that for all we know involves having intimate relations with corn. Right after that, Wyoming had a primary, but it was only for Republicans, because Wyoming Democrats (apparently, there are at least two) will hold their primary on March 8. Most of the candidates ignored Wyoming and focused on the New Hampshire primary, except Rudy Giuliani, who’s following a shrewd strategy, originally developed by the Miami Dolphins, of not entering the race until he has been mathematically eliminated. After New Hampshire came Michigan, where the ballot listed all the Republicans, but only certain Democrats—including Chris Dodd, who had already dropped out of the race—but not including Barack Obama or John Edwards. After Michigan came the Nevada caucuses, in which Hillary Clinton got more votes but Barack Obama got more delegates. (If you don’t understand how that could happen, then you have never been to a casino.) Then came the South Carolina Republican primary, which of course was not held on the same day as the South Carolina Democratic primary, which was Saturday. Then comes Florida, in which Republican voters will elect some delegates, although the total will only be half the number Florida was originally supposed to get. Meanwhile, Florida Democrats, as I mentioned, will have the same impact on their party’s nomination as if they fed their ballots to ducks. I am not making any of this up: This is our actual primary system, except (I hope) the part about the corn. We’re selecting candidates for the most important job in the world via a process that’s less rational than the one used to choose Miss Kumquat of Pasco County.” ~Dave Barry
